Floating Glass
The
new concert dramaturgy of the Vienna Glass Armonica Duo takes
the requirements of contemporary stage presentation into
account without putting undue emphasis on the superficial,
speculative use of stage effects. The integration of light and
video dramaturgy serves solely to communicate the charisma of
the glass instruments to the audience as sensitively as
possible. It enables the listeners to penetrate to the heart
of the music, as it were: seeing as they hear and hearing as
they see.
The
Vienna Glass Armonica Duo found a congenial partner for the
intended intensification of their concert programme on stage
in the author and film artist Peter Wagner. Without eclipsing
the sensitive musical construct with excessive visualisation,
he manages to create an additional evocative level of hearing
and integrate the sound into an overall experience of the
senses through the subtle use of colours and light. This is
all the more captivating and intense because of its very
unobtrusiveness.
"Floating
Glass" is an appealing version of the Vienna Glass
Armonica Duo's concert programme that has proven equally
enchanting for both younger and older audiences.
